A small reflection
Last night I was at a family karaoke bar. It was fun and all. All the little children, and a couple of older children braved the stage and blasted my eardrums with tone-deafness, but hey, they were brave enough to do it. The girl who was running the karaoke machine, her name was Tiffany. She had a great voice, and it was awesome to watch her sing. Later on in the night, I learned that she had a little 3 year old daughter who's name was Riley. What an adorable little kid. Apparently, she doesn't want to be 3. However, she wants to be 23 and a rock star. Kudos to her, she's farther along than most of us. What I found amazing was the love.
I don't know if you've ever witness the love between a mother and a daughter, but it is surely something. It's enough to make you want to smile, laugh, and cry, all at the same time. So Tiffany sang the final karaoke song of the night: "The arms of the angel." Riley was right there next to her, singing her own little version of it. The way they looked at eachother, I can only hope that I learn to love like that someday.
It's inspiring to say the least. I was thinking about it this morning, and how much it meant to me. With the Christmas season here, and that special day almost here, I remember that Christmas is about family, and love. It's about a God who sent his Son to us. It's about being there for the people you love, and showing that love to them.
This whole revelation, interestingly enough came to me in the love of a mother and daughter. I hope you all are lucky enough to experience a love like that someday.
