Scanfair...
A short synopsis of the day at Scanfair:
9:30 Am: Met Lyle and Robby at the JC Cafe to head off to Portland. It was fucking freezing, and Robby came in with a drink that smelled...interesting. Needless to say it was just a follow up of the night before.
From 9:30 to 11:30 we drove to Portland and got a little lost, but not too bad (we made it in time for the pickled herring eating contest!)
Noon was the pickled herring eating contest, which, needless to say, lyle entered. The grand prize was a bottle of aqua vit, and though lyle gave it a valiant effort, he did not win. During said competition, the most adorable old man ever was announcing, and exclaimed "da pickled herring almost fall on da floor!" So funny.
We wandered for a few hours, found the game room and played video games until about 7... then the real fun began.
From 7-11 was the community dancing, which was soooooo much fun. I ended up getting invited to a dance camp called Stemne, and, needless to say, I will be going. :) It's super exciting.
We left at about 10:00 and headed home through the rough weather, Lyle and I had an excellent talk and laughed a whole bunch while Robby slept.
Soo.... I know that's a really short synopsis, but it was a fantastic time, and I hope to do it again next year!
