Evacuation

Today, lunch was amusing. I went to Abby's pizza with Bandow, Jameson, Ms. Stahl, Sabrina, and Katy. The whole two hours that we were there was great. Apart from keeping my mind off of the other shit that is going on in my life at the moment, it was thoroughly entertaining. For a portion of the time we were there we were discussing Katy's younger brother, Sam, which was just hysterical.
Then we talked about the hurricane that just recently hit New Orleans, and how people have been "looting" different stores and what not. Although I'm not suprised at this, I must say, I think that it's not a huge deal if people are taking things that are essential to survival. You know, the necessities... food, water(if there's any left), clothes, shoes, etc. However, taking electronics... plasma tvs, expensive computers, etc... that's just downright greedy.
On the subject of natural disasters, I was recounting a time in Mr. Shelly's math class when we were reading the evacuation procedures for certain natural disasters. Things like volcano eruptions, earthquakes, that sort of thing. Mr. Shelly had said today that his favorites were things like nuclear explosions. At that point, he said "There will be no running to the hills... If there is a nuclear explosion, they should just say, that there is no point in reading the rest of the sentence... everyone will either be dead, or be dead soon."
In short, the whole day was a nerd fest. It was exciting. I really can't wait to get back to school.
